If you had Uncharted 4 marked down in your personal game release calendar (everyone has those, right?) then it’s time to make a quick little update. The game has been delayed from its original March 18 release and will now drop on April 26.This news comes to us straight from Creative Director Neil Druckmann and Game Director Bruce Straley, who made the announcement over on the PlayStation Blog.“This is our largest Uncharted game to date, and the team has been working incredibly hard to meet the challenge of closing out the game’s development in a timely manner,” said the directors. “However, as we approached our final deadlines and started wrapping up the game’s levels, we realized that several key sequences needed extra resources to bring them to the finish line. After carefully considering all of our options, we decided to extend our schedule, making sure that we get a few more polish passes before submitting our gold master (the final disc for manufacturing).”“Pushing the date is not an easy choice, and we wouldn’t do it if we didn’t feel in our hearts it’s the best course of action for the game,” they continued. “To you, our loyal fans, we hope you’ll accept our sincere apology. We know many of you have been waiting patiently for Nathan Drake’s final chapter, and now we humbly ask you to wait a bit longer.”Though this is now the second time the game has been delayed (it was originally set for release during the 2015 holiday season), it’s definitely for the best in the end. We’ve seen what happens when games are rushed to meet a specific release date (Assassin’s Creed Unity), so we shouldn’t be too upset over this news. Naughty Dog will no doubt deliver another winner. If it takes a bit longer then so be it.Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
