The government of Ontario will be handing down its next provincial budget on March 25.Finance Minister Rod Phillips said the budget will focus on reducing, and eventually eliminating, the deficit, which is forecast at $9 billion for the current fiscal year. However, Sprint director of product development John Tudhope told Mobile World Live the LG phone will come with 5G capabilities built in, setting it apart from early competitors such as Motorola’s Z3 phone with its clip-on 5G attachment.Yasser Nafei, SVP of strategy and product management for LG Electronics, added the goal is to deliver a premium-tier 5G device with enhanced speed, memory, camera and battery life features in a form factor already familiar to consumers. The phone will focus on delivering 5G service via Sprint’s 2.5GHz spectrum, but will also include advanced 4G capabilities to avoid a dramatic drop off in performance outside 5G coverage zones. Tudhope confirmed support for T-Mobile US roaming bands will also be included, but dodged a question about whether it will support mmWave spectrum Sprint’s proposed merger partner is planning to use for its own 5G deployments. The race is onDetails of the move comes as competition among handset vendors heats up ahead of global 5G service launches expected later this year and in early 2019.The release of the LG phone will be timed to sync up with Sprint’s rollout of 5G service in nine cities in the first half of next year. Tudhope said Sprint will heavily target marketing for the device in those early 5G cities, including: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, New York City, Phoenix and Washington, D.C.While the phone will initially be tooled specifically for Sprint’s network, Tudhope noted it will be up to LG to determine later whether there are opportunities to expand distribution with other operator partners. In addition to Motorola, LG will likely be squaring off for the 5G crown with other major device vendors including Samsung. At the recent Galaxy Note 9 launch, ZDNet reported Samsung mobile chief DJ Koh said the company is working with South Korean mobile operators on a 5G phone ahead of expected service launches there in March 2019. It is unclear whether the device will also support 5G deployments in international markets. They rather stay here, sleep in the car, wash up and go do it again.” Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced Tuesday the city will provide nearly 300 hotel rooms for the city’s paramedics, firefighters and police officers, the Chicago Tribune reports. John Rugen, a 16-year veteran, described the situation forEMS workers as “madness.” Brazilay said more than 500 members were showing signs andsymptoms of COVID-19 on Tuesday. More than 50 had tested positive for thevirus. Concern is running so high in New York City that some FDNY EMSmembers are reportedly sleeping in their cars to avoid infecting their familieswith coronavirus. “These rooms aren’t for first responders who are themselvessick,” Lightfoot said, speaking at a graduation ceremony for new paramedics.“We have hospitals for that. However, the reality is that they are coming incontact with the virus everyday and working long, hard hours. And some of themmay prefer to stay downtown rather than going home to their spouse, kids orfriends.”
A report from the education and skills select committee, headed by Labour MP Barry Sheerman, will criticise the programme for missing the opportunity to promote sustainable building methods.Liberal Democrat committee member Paul Holmes said it was ‘pretty stupid’ that ministers had failed to put sustainability at the heart of the biggest public-sector building project since the 1960s.In a recent meeting with the Sustainable Development Commission, competing contractors said they were keen to build schools with better Green credentials, but feared the costs could mean they would lose out to rivals in the bidding process.

Startup School is an annual event co-sponsored by Y Combinator and BASES, Stanford University’s Business Association for Entrepreneurial Students. Today’s Startup School, now in its sixth year, was a day full of speakers, imparting their knowledge to a packed auditorium of entrepreneurs. The topics at Startup School ranged from the history of Silicon Valley innovation and the history (and future) of startup funding, to testing your hypothesis, pivoting, and optimizing for happiness. The speaker – 11 all told – gave presentations, followed by a short Q&A with audience members.Although you can watch the video archives on Justin.tv (and Paul Graham says he’ll be posting the essay version of his remarks online soon), here are some of the highlights from my lecture notes: Andy Bechtolsheim: Founder, Arista Networks, Sun MicrosystemsLecture topic: Innovation“Take ownership of your innovation.”Paul Graham: Co-founder, Y CombinatorLecture topic: Startup Funding – Super Angels versus VCsAs an investor, “if you are looking for the next Google, you don’t care if you invest at a $20 million valuation because the company is going to be worth billions. Anureet Singh claimed five wickets.Rajasthan on Tuesday suffered the ignominy of getting bowled out for a paltry score of 35 against Railways in a central zone leg match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy here on Tuesday.Railways won the match in only 5.3 overs losing a single wicket as the match lasted a total of 21 overs at the old Vidarbha Cricket Association ground. This is the second lowest score by a team in the history of India’s domestic one day competition. The lowest score in List A in India was Saurashtra’s 34 against Mumbai back in the year 2000. Across the globe, this is the seventh lowest score in first-class cricket.Rajasthan skipper Pankaj Singh opted for batting but the Rajasthan players strangely lacked stomach for fight with as many as five batsman were out without scoring.Railways seamers Anureet Singh (5 for 16 in 8 overs) and Amit Mishra (5 for 18 in 7.3 overs) shared the spoils. The highest score was Arjit Gupta’s 13, which incidentally was the only double digit score by a batsman. When asked about such a dismal score, Railways skipper Mahesh Rawat was quick to point out that there were no demons in the pitch.”Yesterday, we played at the same ground and both teams scored in the range of 240 plus. So you can’t simply blame the pitch. The pitch was fine and there were no demons. Our opening bowlers were brilliant from the start. We have young Bilaspur boy Amit, who bowls outswing at a decent pace and we had Anureet, who is a seasoned campaigner at this level,” skipper Rawat said.advertisement”The areas that our new ball bowlers bowled was brilliant and it became difficult for their batsmen. They wilted under pressure created by out bowlers,” said Rawat.
