first_imgBy Gavin van Marle 16/03/2021 US digital-first freight forwarder Flexport has expanded its European management team with the appointment of air freight veteran Paul Rombeek (pictured above) as its new senior director of network tradelane management, EMEA.Mr Rombeek will be responsible for “driving Flexport’s consolidated air and ocean service offerings”, afocused on the Far East westbound trade.“Paul’s extensive network and knowledge of aviation industry dynamics will be a great asset to our European business,” said Jan van Casteren, vice president of Europe at Flexport. His experience and entrepreneurial mindset will help us to connect Flexport’s unique value proposition to the air and ocean consolidations services our customers need.”He began his career at Air France-KLM, where he held operational and commercial positions in Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Asia Pacific. He next was named chief executive of low-cost-carrier Tigerair Mandala, launching the business in Indonesia, and most recently was global head of sales for the Jetstar Airways group and chief commercial officer of Jetstar Asia. “I’m looking forward to joining such an ambitious and entrepreneurial team,” he said. “Despite a turbulent 2020, Flexport has continued to grow and I’m delighted to be able to support continued momentum in 2021 and beyond.”last_img read more

They are leaders in the production of iron ore and the second largest producer of nickel.The Echoscope® and F180® have been used successfully by Baird & Associates S.A., Chile, for more than 18 months under very challenging and turbid conditions to conduct dynamic surveys for Vale.During this period the various applications that the Echoscope® was used for included:– Underwater subsea sonar imaging and mapping to monitor erosion in the terrain surrounding the piles supporting Pier IV and the morphology of the seabed attributable to the presence of vessels using the facility, particularly on Pier IV’s South Berth;– Identification of obstacles that pose a risk to dredging operations;– Updating of the computer models used by Baird to account for actual temporal changes of scour and shoaling;– Use during construction operations on the pier’s foundations (pile driving), which require constant monitoring to ensure compliance with project criteria.[mappress mapid=”19686″]Press Releaselast_img read more
