Chongqing, Stockholm Dota 2 Majors announced for 2018-2019 season

first_imgTwo new Majors for the upcoming Dota Pro Circuit have been announced: The Chongqing Major and The Stockholm Major.Three of five Majors for the 2018-2019 DPC season have now been announced.The Chongqing Major is being hosted by StarLadder and ImbaTV, and will act as the second Major of the season. Being held from January 19-27th, 16 teams will travel to China to compete for the lion’s share of $1,000,000 (£766,800) and 15,000 qualifying points for The International 9.English, Russian, and Chinese broadcast teams will all be invited to work from in the venue to cater to numerous audiences. Qualifiers will be held for North America, South America, Europe, CIS, China, and Southeast Asia. StarLadder also revealed it will be hosting two Minors in the lead up to the prestigious annual TI event.The Stockholm Major is also known as CORSAIR DreamLeague Season 11, and it’ll take place over March 14-24th. Yet again, $1,000,000 (£766,800) will be distributed to 16 teams who attend – 15,000 DPC points are up for grabs.CORSAIR DreamLeague Season 10 was the first Minor to take place, finishing up just on November 4th. Tigers managed to claim $125,000 (£95,828.12), 120 DPC points, and a spot at The Kuala Lumpur Major after taking down Natus Vincere in the grand final.The Kuala Lumpur Major is the first Major tournament of the season, with $1,000,000 (£766,800) being dished out at the end of November 9-18th. Some of the teams that will travel to Malaysia include Team Secret, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Virtus.pro, PSG.LGD, Fnatic, and Evil Geniuses.Esports Insider says: It’s always helpful to announce tournaments in advance.
