Knowing me, knowing EU: ABBA man wants UK to stay

first_imgBjörn Ulvaeus, a former member of the Swedish band ABBA, has said it would be “a disaster” if the U.K. votes to leave the EU after the referendum on June 23.Ulvaeus told the BBC: “I pray that you don’t leave the EU, it would be a disaster I think. It makes me sad.”He said that the U.K. feels like a second home to him, because he has lived there for six years. “It’s like someone you love leaving you in a way. It is emotional,” he added. When asked about the position of Sweden in Europe, that has similarly to the U.K. not joined the Eurozone, Ulvaeus said that Sweden and Britain share “the same kind of ambivalence towards the EU.”People in Sweden would therefore want the U.K. to remain a member, he claims. “One of the reasons with Brits in, there is sort of more people who think like we do in the EU.” Also On POLITICO Garry Kasparov to Britain: Don’t give Vladimir Putin a Brexit By Vince Chadwick Half of Europeans think Britain will leave the EU By Vince Chadwicklast_img read more
